I’m a real estate agent ¿Now what? Tips for success in real estate

When you start your path as a real estate agent many doubts arise. How do I bring in more and
better listings? What is the best way to serve a customer? How do I make a name for myself
among the competition? In this blog we will try to give you some useful tips that can guide you
as a real estate consultant.

Your network starts with your acquaintances

It is important to create a network of contacts who appreciate your services. Start by telling all
your family, friends and acquaintances about what you do. Those who know you will already
trust you, and they will know who to call for their real estate needs.

Treat your listings like your children

The treatment of the real estate agent is based on trust. To cultivate trust and good service it is
important to pay constant attention to all your clients and their needs. Don’t just bring them
leads from time to time. Also contact them, show them the publications you make on social
networks, send them a monthly contact report. They may be small things, but for them you are
present and offering an invaluable service.

Learn from leads

A sale is almost never closed just by sending a pre-written email. Talk to your customers and
ask them what their needs are. After you have talked to them, ask them for feedback in order
to understand how they came to contact you and what exactly they are looking for. This will
help you change your sales strategy, your exposure, and even revise your selling prices.

Scout your environment

Speaking of prices… Have you checked the prices of your competitors lately? Benchmarking is
extremely important to understand where your listings are, compared to other offerings on the
market.

Additionally explore and discover your specialty. Nobody is an expert in everything. Make a
concise and focused strategy either in the area of your preference, or in the type of property of
your preference. Once you have it, you can better focus your efforts and services.

If it’s not on the web, it doesn’t exist

Social media is an invaluable tool that can be exploited at very little cost. Creating a profile on
sites like Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, LinkedIn, and even YouTube takes minutes and nurturing
them can take your exposure to the next level. You can even use tools like Wix or Squarespace
to create your own professional website and start showing up in search results.

It is important that if you are going to create these profiles, you must keep them updated and
create content for them. If they are called social networks, the idea is to be sociable in them.
Do not be afraid of the camera, remember that it is important for clients to see a face they can
trust. Publish your properties, price offers, sales achieved and it is also important to
communicate valuable content to your followers. After all, clients don’t see you as a robot with
properties on hand, they see you as an expert in the field.

Socializing is creating opportunities

The same wine tasting that you would like to go to, is the same one that a potential client
wants to go to. Your main skill as a real estate agent is creating valuable and meaningful
connections with people. Take advantage of that virtue and attend social events, art
exhibitions, club events, weddings; There are limitless options when it comes to meeting new
people and creating important contacts. Just be yourself, go out there and leave a mark on
people.

This concludes our list of tips for new advisors. At Sotheby’s International Realty we have many
tools to not only guide you in your venture, but also take it to the next level. If you are
