SIR Costa Rica Blog
Finding the precise words to describe his talent, vision and unique style is not easy. It just takes watching the details on each one of his creations to really find the way this architect merges the best of two worlds to make a space into a master piece.
This well known creator and visionary architect has spent his life and professional training traveling between three countries: his birthplace Peru, USA and Costa Rica. It was in the Pura Vida land where he decided to settle down and opened an office more than 25 years ago. Nowadays his workplace has become an experimental campus where creativity, innovation and exploration are the perfect combination to get as far as possible from conventional architectural style.
The immersion and relevance Jaime gives to details in all of his projects begin with ideas, from the creativity of the artist goes through the necessary steps to materialize these ideas along with his holistic architectural vision setting him apart from the rest of his generation.
In an interview, Jaime talked about how experimenting with the use and fusion of different materials in architecture, has gotten him more involved with the decoration:
“My clients have told me that they don’t need interior designers because I can take care of it. This took my team and I to create a hybrid between architecture and interior design so this is what we still do today”.
It is in one of Jaime’s most recent jobs we can enjoy the exquisiteness of the artist work. Signature Masterpiece located in Rohrmoser, in front of Parque del Café, is an apartment that combines Jamie’s two passions, architecture and interior design in a unique way.
His good taste and passion for art has motivated him to create, inside this apartment, a 20-year old collection that involves elements with a singular purpose like some paintings made by talented Costa Rican painters along with French lamps from back in 1929 along with a rug brought in from Morocco, among other art pieces.
We can continue adding to the amazing quality of this apartment complex. Jaime not only designed this place but was also in charge of creating its interior concept. A fine 7-inch light oak hardwood floor throughout, the kitchen has Italian ceramic veneers made of glazed clay and walnut cabinets, cherry on the top… an automated lutron lighting and audio system and central air conditioning are just some of the captivating amenities found in the property.
