Blue Sea Views, Mal País
Casa Jungua, “House of Jungle and Water” is a beautiful, environmentally friendly, off the grid Balinese-Style Farm House located in Cabo Matapalo on the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica with a beautiful gazebo perched to take in the splendor of the Pacific Ocean and the Golfo Dulce.
It is built purely from greenheart woods and has an extremely low impact on the environment. Exclusively solar powered yet featuring washer / dryer, refrigerator / freezer / swimming pool and other amenities one would expect from a “wired” home. Privacy and off-the-grid living in a gorgeous natural setting creating a truly unique home in Casa Jungua.
Casa Jungua borders the largest protected wildlife preserve in Central America – Corcovado National Park, and overlooks Golfo Dulce “The Sweet Gulf” and the Pacific Ocean as well as Pan Dulce and Backwash Bay – world famous surfing destinations. With very few neighbors in the area, and given the location of Casa Jungua, not only ARE you immersed into the jungle but you are also perched above the ocean with endless views and absolute privacy.
Casa Jungua sleeps 6+ adults in two large bedrooms and has a large living room / dining room, kitchen “monkey porch” (where our guests can observe all four species of Costa Rican primates – Spider Monkeys, White-Faced Monkeys, Howler Monkeys and Squirrel Monkeys) and a full-length front porch providing breathtaking views of the sea. The front yard features a plunge pool as well as the signature element of the property – a pavilion that is suspended over the jungle and looks down on Lower Matapalo and the gulf. From this vantage point our guests enjoy watching the sunrise, a wide variety of wildlife, surfers, fishing boats, waves and humpback wales while dining, enjoying a morning coffee or happy hour after a long day of hiking, fishing or simply exploring. There is a two- car carport and a storage room as well.
It is possible to walk down to the beach right from the front of the house on the walking path, where you can swim, surf or fish. The walk takes approximately 10 minutes down and 15 minutes back up. Live in luxury, off-the-grid, immersed in privacy in the jungle and soaking in the spectacular views that Casa Jungua has to offer.
