This impressive house was built by an international team of architects. The woodwork is one of a kind, including enormous amounts of Cristobal wood, one of the most sought-after hardwoods and hardly available today.
The home could be said to have two sides, the living off to the left and the social off to the right, connected by a spacious kitchen on one end and connected by an elegant and welcoming corridor at the front entrance.
With over 550m2 roofed, this spacious home has six rooms, including a master, two secondary rooms, a studio with full bathroom, a “mini apartment” on the ground floor, and service quarters. Throughout the house there is high quality lighting designed for low consumption.
On almost 1´500m2 of landscaped land, the gardens were developed to be environmentally friendly and reduce water consumption as much as possible. There are also various crops growing which are consumed by the family on-site.
The home is elegant, with dark hardwood Cristobal flooring, window frames, doors/frames, and Caliza Stone for balcony flooring and exterior walls, as well as some ceilings of the highest quality wild-cane.
In 2016 a new communication system was installed (TV/phone/internet) in fiber optic cabling and UTP Cat6 to every room from a central control room. There is full HD security over IP, and a security system including multiple control panels, panic buttons, and dual tech motion/weight sensors.
While the social areas were designed with cross ventilation for natural cooling and fresh air, there is also an AC system with touch-screen programable thermostat. There are separate utility rooms for the electric systems and for the water systems, including a large capacity tank, sediment filter, sprinkler control system, and hydraulic pump).
The house was designed to not be exposed to the summer winds (as many homes in Villa Real are), and has a view into and onto the largest natural reserve of Villa Real (27 acres) as well as directly bordering it on two sides of the property. It does not receive any of the highway noise.
